Thermal Paste Upgrade Results :D

When I bought this Cpu cooler, I thought I had read that it came with tx-2, so i was pretty happy with that, until it came in and only had a tiny packet of this junk http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835230029

yesterday a friend gave me an unused thing of ZM-STG2, so I took off the heatsink cleaned it and put it on with the 2 stripe method for HDT coolers, and the Results are as follows...

Cpu - Phenom 2 965 @ 4GHz (20 x 200) v1.395

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835230029
Ambient - 18c
Idle - 30c
(lowest temp in 3 minutes of sleep mode)
Load - 53c
(highest temp in 2 runs of IBT)
Prime95 - 50c

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835118055
Ambient - 20c
Idle - 27c
Load - 47c
Prime95 - 46c

I'm still considering getting TX-2 as it slightly outperforms AS5... Can anybody give me an idea of how much gain i would see?

How much difference do you think i'd see?
That zalman paste is supposed to be pretty decent. I doubt that you'll see much of a difference with any other paste. I really like MX-2 since its non-conductive and cleans up super easily. It also works as well as any other paste that I have used including shin etsu and MX-4.

If anything 1-2C difference, maybe 2-4C if it wasn't done properly the first time. Still good temps I must say!

Why does nobody get it? Shin Etsu is the best traditional TIM. Indigo and all that crap beat it but it is annoying to use and has limited applicability. Pick up a tube of Shin Etsu X23 cheaper than most other junk out there and then report back

I may do that then, the heat around here is a bit unforgiving
and thanks

I'll look into it, I just like tx-2 because its cheap and performs really well, but I've never actually used it
