Can a Athlon II X2 255 + Onboard Ati 4250 support HD Video Playback and recording?
I'm looking to build a HTPC for my family, using an old case that I'm going to mod.

Yeah, sure, it won't stutter during playback. You just keep your X6 for encoding if you ever need to, as the little Athlon will take ages to do it

How do you go about streaming Live TV via a HTPC, do I need a TV Tuner Card?
Also how do you record Live TV?
What Software Should I use?

Combination is perfect. Will fully accelerate all 1080p media files and YouTube flash and playback with ease.

youll need a tuner card or capture card and a source that the pc can control
win7 media center is fairly easy to setup and use, other than the drm thing

then it can be streamed across the lan to any other pc
