Distilled Water good or not for liquid cooling? - Page 4

I've heard that destilled water/battery water and about 10% anti-freeze liquid is the best. Anti-freeze as a corotionblocker that is. I use this mix in my loop and it's all working well so far. Had planed to use a killcoil, but it was to much of a hassle and not to mension expensive.

Distilled isn't guaranteed to be safe over time, but it's the best chance you have, and is as pure as you can get for our purposes (there are shortcomings of distillation in water purification, but they're not relevant to computer water-cooling).

Adding corrosion inhibitors is common, but whatever it is it's reducing the "purity" of the water however you want to call it. Inhibitors are not necessary unless some of your loop consists of aluminum elements.

I used De-Ionized water.... At one time the pipes melted on my CPU block, it then dripped onto my graphics card with no permanent damage.

De-Ionized Water is your friend

10% is too high... more like 5% at most.
Once again...

Ok, what would happen with 10%+ antifreeze instead of 5%? Just a slight increase in temps?
