Thanks! I'll try your recommendations for a starting point. THanks again!

1. Don't run 24/7 without priming for 12 or more hours for big OC's.
2. Don't push past 1.5v on Sandy Bridge while on air.
3. Don't use peanut butter as TIM.
4. Use GOOD cooling.
5. Check your WC setup for leaks before proceeding.
6. Don't grab it when you stick it.

Good idea to find batch numbers and see if there is a correlation with how well they overclock. I remember a few specific D0 i7 batches that could overclock much better than the rest!

Thanks everyone. I have a few to add. Don't use the "Load Optimized Cpu" setting on the Asrock z68 extreme4 motherboard....it doesn't work for sht.

Also, don't rely on IBT results only. I used the Load Optimized cpu setting to auto overclock my rig to 4.6. Everything seemed fine with IBT but Prime95 crashed to a BSOD as soon as I opened the program....

I was hoping overclocking my rig would be like an overnight thing...but it looks like it will take me alot longer than that! Especially when I have so many freaking things on my mobo's UEFI that I can change and that I have no idea what they do.

This is all a bit overwhelming....I think I may have gotten in over my head!

I am a noob as well. Hmmmm.... I'd just like to emphasize no stock cooling units, and that all chips are different.
-Don't be a quiet freak while OC'ing. Although you have Noctua...
-I know you specified CPU, but OC your CPU, RAM, and GPU SEPARATELY. Let's you figure out what's wrong quicker.
-Generally people on Overclock.net invest a lot in there computers. In other words, most of us cannot afford to buy our parts AGAIN right off the bat. I'd assume you're the same, because your rig looks ****ing expensive. So, be very careful. It may not happen often from OC'ing, but stuff CAN break.
