Here is a better comparison. http://www.notebookcheck.net/Compute...s.13849.0.html
And CUDA and PhysX and Optimus and Forceware driver support and the cool Nvidia sticker you get and...

Perhaps the Mac Mini will get a little larger, and/or they'll remove the optical drive and/or replace the hard drive with one of those flash SSDs in the MacBook Air and use the extra space to fit a dedicated GPU, but I don't think it's possible considering the heat.

The C2D in the Mac Mini is only 25w and the GeForce 320m only about ~12w. The dual-core Sandy Bridge CPUs w/ an IGP are 35w.

Exciting though, not too long to go.
Why wouldn't there be enough space? There is enough space for the GT320m on apple's custom PCB for the current Air.

What's to stop them from sticking something a little more recent in? (i.e. HD6000m/GT500m series)

It's a GeForce 320M not GeForce GT 320M. The former is integrated and the latter is dedicated. There's no way to fit a dedicated GPU in that size machine, especially without heat problems.

Ahh well, I don't see why they couldn't stick something else in there. I mean if they're trying to make it thinner then I would understand. But it really doesn't need to be thinner, it would just make it uncomfortable to use. For me at least.

Lol really? I thought it was a discrete GPU, not a dedicated. If I'm correct, there's a difference between the two, right? (Discrete being the smaller, more efficient one. Dedicated is the more powerful, larger one.)

People need to do their research before spewing off nonsense.

You need to count the North Bridge TDP also for C2Ds. Anyway Intel HD3000 is superior compared to the Geforce 320M.
Well, I remember reading a review for the Macbook Pro 13" 2011 model that compared it to the MBP 13" 2010 model. They got similar results in OSX, but in Windows, the Geforce 320M trumped the Intel HD 3000. It also said that Apple writes custom drivers for their GPU's on their notebooks to bump up performance. I'll find the link and post it here.

EDIT: Nevermind, it was already posted

It's just too small. Think about the 13" MacBook Pro which is significantly larger than a MacBook Air, and they're unable to fit a dedicated GPU inside of it. The MacBook Air is just too small, and making it large would defeat the purpose of it.

PEOPLE... THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 320M AND HD3000..... is like comparing a ****ty 1990 corolla vs 1990 honda civic... they both suck for gaming. the one guy saying he rather stick to the 2010 model.. you would rather go with a intel C2D with a 320m over a sandy bridge i5 with hd3000?? are u retarded?? why are you even on this site??
Uhh no. I know several people with macs and they use Windows almost as much as they use Mac OS X. Not everyone buys a mac JUST for OS X. If that was the case, they wouldn't advertise that they have the ability to use Windows on Macs.
An Intel C2D with a 320m is PLENTY for an ultraportable. If you want something more, you're better off buying a laptop. And where do you even get the idea that the new MBA is using a SB i5? That wasn't stated anywhere.
Oh, and I'm on this site because I love computers. I'm not much of an overclocker, but I admire computers and love pretty much everything about them. I would welcome you to OCN, but you seem like a troll, and trolls aren't welcome here.

Not true. Windows drivers are often much better than those for Mac OS X so it is indicative of the 320M being better than the HD3000. Additionally, if you actually want to play any games -- not only for performance but for the games available, you'd buy a copy of Windows (for the most part). Unless you don't really care and only play the occasional game, in which case it doesn't matter.
Oh okay, gotcha. Thanks for the info.

A lot of people somewhat confuse what exactly the Nvidia card on the air was. It is a Nvidia GPU, but it shares system memory, which technically makes it an integrated solution.
