X-Fi Titanium HD or Xonar D2X

I want to place the order soon, which one is better?

Gaming-40%
Music-40%
Movies-20%

I mostly use headphones for now (AD-700's), but will also be using a good speaker set soon (midrange M-Audio's/Audioengine's/Swans, not sure yet).

What do you think? BTW, I listen to a lot of alt/indie rock, some dubstep, and a little of all other genres pretty much.

For stereo, Titanium HD easy. D2X is only really good for really higher-end surround.. at which point you're probably using a receiver anyway. Also, HD will be better for a few games here and there.
Genres are irrelevant in this case.

Yes, I play a little BC2, not enough to base my choice off of one game though. I will be getting a surround sound setup next year, but not incredibly high-end. Ill probably spend around $600 on it.

I kinda figured genres would be irrelevant, but I'm just throwing information out there lol.

Well, if you plan on using analog surround, you'll need to pick the D2X. Otherwise, HD all the way.

no matter what you play or like to hear the Titanium HD is way better than the D2X

Just bear in mind that it's stereo card

I've used both (D2 is the same as a D2X).

My thoughts on them: http://www.overclock.net/sound-cards...l#post14207549

I'm trying to find out if I would need to upgrade my current onboard soundcard for a pair of PC360's.

I have a Astro 5.8 wireless mixamp I'll be using to run the headset on both my PC and XBOX but I wanted to know if I'd need to get something like the Titanium HD to get the most out of the headset on my pc. Does this card even output a 5.1 signal on the optical out? Would I need something that supported Dolby Live?

I'm looking at this one: http://www.sybaritic.co.za/store/pro...ducts_id=25280
