Yea I remember I wanted to replace some electrical tape with sleeving on some of my wires smile.gif and put in new fans. crap like that. granted with the cable management i used you could not tell it was like that. but i know whats behind the scenes so i still wanna do it nice.

That's a very nice goal! Hope you reach it!

I'd like for mine to be that too, but I am already at my limits on cooling. (72C on Intel Burn Test with AVX for my current cooling/configuration).

Today was sort of a busy day. I decided to break down my Thermaltake Armor+. Stripped it down all the way. took it to a friends house and we showed it a little bit of love. It needed it too. so here is a few before and after pictures of the part that got some love.

Wow I couldn't wait to assemble the case before mounting the motherboard to see what it looks like. I have to admit that the I/O plate is really well done. Gone are the little tabs that always get in the way of mounting your motherboard. A super cool feature I was not expecting. The board slid right up into it with absolutely no hassle at all.

I Installed the ram and the cpu mounted the board. So I think im going to do a red and blue theme with this build. As for the fans i think i am going to go with some white LED fans and hide a UV ccfl mixed in to light up the board with a natural look yet provide a glow to some UV active things that I will be using. I am still undecided on my tubing for the water loop but i have a while to think it over. I know this time around i will not be using any dye at all and will go with colored tubing.

anyway here is a couple more pictures. I am really liking the way this thing pops on black paint. yes I know. clean the finger prints. don't worry it will get done.

So just a little update. no pics this time. I am about 85 percent with the reassembly of the case. its really looking nice with the new paint on it. ive got the stock Intel cooler installed the tray is in and ive started basic wiring. I really love the asus quick connects.

I did install the video card. Im a little bit skeptical at how it sits. it lays right on the north bridge heatsink. i do not see anyway to get any air flow over this thing. I sure hope it doesn't hinder to much. Hell im even over laying the sata ports but because they are side mount instead of top mount it doesn't matter.

so pretty much all thats left is to install the PSU again after a nice cleaning that is. after that it will be time to see if it will live or not. so far ive basically cut the system down to bare min. ive kicked out at 4 fans from the case. ive removed my bonni from it as well which really opens up the space. I don't think im going to do any major cable management. I just want to get it up and running stock and take some base line test for right now. theres still a few minor things to pick up such as some new fans and some sleeving for the non psu wires and stuff like that.

Ill snap up some pics whats the case is back together so you can see the over all effect with the complete black out of the inside.

So I am finished with the upgrade for the time being. I am sadden and yet joyful at the same time. As I was hoping to do my testing with almost an identical setup. except cpu ram and motherboard. I will not be able to do this since my gtx260 decided it wanted to crap out on me during the reinstall process. so for the time being i have an x300 sitting in it and in the next day or so a friend is going to loan me a 9600gt to use for a little bit. So the reason why im joyful is now i have a good excuse to step up my video card. Ive been eyeing some 460's I figure for the price and the performance gain above the gtx260 it would be a nice upgrade.

So in the mean time its a pretty basic set up everything is running at stock settings. except the bios. I did update that to the 1503. I wasn't ready to to use a beta bios just yet.

the following are a few pics of the completed system as it stands now. This is just a temp setup for the next couple weeks as i will be putting together the water loop and doing some sleaving and a couple of minor things here and there.

the overall finish of the paint job to me is much better then the normal metal look. You are more drawn towards the objects in the case instead of the case its self. The paint and clear coat is a finger print magnet. I will also have to take some time to buff everything out when im all said and done.

anyway here are the pictures

Please dont mind the wire management again this is just a temp setup the 2 hanging down were from my gtx260

again you can see that it needs a good buffing to get everything off but overall looks good i think

Says warning Overclocked. I love these case screws. I wish i had about 8 more of them id use them to hold the motherboard to the standoffs

powered on. hard to see the lighting. I do like the glowing asus on the chipset. probably wont see it with a real video card installed.

only thing missing are the flaps for the front and the double bay res for the water loop. nice having usb3.0 upfront just need a use for it now

someone is going to have to teach me how to take pictures of the lighting effects and get them to come out proper.

all sealed up for now. the buffing will make it look better

Do it, do it!

Very nice job, your paint job looks pretty good there as well.

I hope you can get all the remaining things to do situated, especially the graphics card side of things.
