Keep telling yourself that. The experienced audio communities seem to think otherwise.

again your setup is not aimed at console gaming, cheap $60 TB are, and people will pay for them regardless of what pc gamers recommend as a setup.

Most people that game on consoles due so because of how convenient it is, so those people will more than likely purchase a cheap convenient headset setup.

having my headphones and mic while on gaming my pc are great, but not as convenient as the headset that i use with my console.
Can you stop trying to say
NO THATS FOR PC GAMING THIS FOR CONSOLES!
There's no difference. Good sound is good sound.

There's a reason MLG Halo players use Sennheisers.

You obviously have not read all the post, you should before you chime in.

Two items that are much cheaper, and better than 1 item outweigh the "convenience" of one item.
HAHA x1's? The original xbox headset is better than that. lol
Sounds like your just really sour for cheaping out waaaay too much on a pair of TB's. I use a set of PX21's for my ps3 and xbox and I am very satisfied for $60.

If you plug a stereo headphone into a 360, no, a good sound stage alone will not be enough. Compare that to a pair of X11's and you'll never even consider going back to the mic + phones option for 360.

As far as the $300 option I agree that is overpriced, but so is any 'branded' PC accessory as well such as the SC peripherals.

Edit: Oh and what about the 3.5mm jack for the headphones themselves? It would have to plug into either the TV/DVD/etc or be USB for the 360.
Or you can get an RCA to 3.5mm adapter...

Virtual sound is far from necessary, and even if you want it, get a mixamp or run the headphones through your soundcard, and connect your 360 to your input.

Grow up. Don't begin every post with a "laugh", and don't end every post with "you're just mad because x". I'm not mad about buying Turtle Beaches. I was uninformed and wasted my money. Now I know better, and I'm happy for it. I'm not delusional, I don't try to convince myself that Turtle Beaches aren't complete ****.

Then you've never been to an actual event. They use Astros in championships because Astro pays them ridiculous amounts of money.

What do you not get about this? I care considerably less about the audio quality as I do that I can pinpoint the locations of opponents using only audio.

They have much bigger budgets and more reason to spend more on them. Both of us are talking about a single headset, the X11. Nothing comparable to them for $60 for consoles besides maybe the cheapest Tritton, but they have shoddy quality still.

To plug it into my TV? Sure as hell won't plug into my 360. And even if it could, how do you expect me to control game and mic volume? Virtual surround is absolutely vital for console gaming if you want an edge.

Gaming headsets actually focus more on the sound positioning compared to actual sound quality and representation. I'd much rather know the direction a person is, than using stereo headphones.
