Well excuse you. We can have our opinions.
People who spend money on what I and many others would consider to be evil
is the worst possible thing going. Yes, I used the word evil. This headset is pure evil. This is the equivalent of Monster Cables.
Why should we not care about people spending money, regardless of whose it is, on Monster Cables? So all the businesses making HDMI cables think they can also charge $100 for a 6ft cable that is only for $10? Same logic applies here.
These mediocre headsets that Turtle sells go for $100, and this one specifically for $300, and everyone buys them because their brand name. Not because of quality. Other companies see this and think they can do the same.
Another example relatively similar to these are Beats headphones. People spend $250 on those damn things. They are OK
headphones. But because they're "in style" and all the kids buy them, they must be worth the money right? Wrong
. You can get a way better pair of cans for half the price. It puts the business in a bad situation.
If you're making quality headphones, why should you sell cheaper than the worse ones? Then you've suddenly got a price hike in the entire damn industry because everyone used your logic and didn't care about what other people buy.
You better bet your damn pennies we have EVERY
right to hate on what people spend their money on. For you to even say that astonishes me.
..Not mad, just kind of sad. It surprises me when people say things like "it's not for music, it's for gaming!" as if each is mutually exclusive. All you need from headphones for gaming are soundstage and clarity. Turtle Beaches aren't even mediocre;they're bad. I owned an X1 for Xbox, and the sound quality is atrocious.
I forget which out of the dozens Turtle Beach has, but one $150 pair I tried was actually decent. It wasn't wireless and it sounded ok even with music.
I'm no expert audiophile of course, more of a wannabe (lol) but they certainly were useable. Definitely not worth $150 though.Edited by OmegaNemesis28 - 7/19/11 at 1:15pm
