Flashing is extremely easy, and has tons of fail safes. If you actually brick both BIOS's on your card at the same time, you don't deserve a GPU in the first place.

For your GPU, I'd go with CF 6950's, but go non-ref. Get an MSI Twin Frozr III which are already highly overclocked, and then just OC them even more. Very good performance gain from that.

It's actually going to be super hard to find 2 6950's that are flashable. Nearly impossible actually.

^This and new non-reference dont have 2 Bios, so if you screw up you brick your card for good.

Right now I have 2 x 6970s on the list I'll probably only get one at first then get another one later, I'm looking at xfx cards though with the life time warranty

eh the OP's sig rig is like 2600k and gtx 580s...i assume his 'naff old rig' isnt that one?

It ticks me off when people start threads like that and clearly dont point out that thier sig rig is not actually thier sig rig...People should only put thier sig rig as what they actually own, not what they plan to buy in the future

This is a partial explanation. SSD caching is where you use an SSD (usually a smaller capacity SSD) to act as a cache for a HDD or an array of HDDs. You can read more about it here.

People generally use smaller capacity drives for SSD caching because if you have an SSD of larger capacity, you might as well use it as a stand-alone OS/apps/games drive. If you use an SSD as an independent drive (like most people do), then you don't need the SSD caching feature of Z68. The Z68 platform does not offer better performance than P67 for independent SSD drives.

If you read the name of the rig it says "my Future Rig" which means I don't own it yet, and then people tore it down to help me out and ill change it once I get my new one, my old one is just an stupid.

I would drop the ssd for a second graphics card. That way you would have crossfire now. Ssd are great but you will get more out of the second card then a ssd in gaming.
