XFX: Yet Another Warranty Denial - Page 11

I dont know if u already know this... but it was mostlikely UPS's fault... i did a tour at the hub here(2nd largest in USA) and you DO NOT want to see the horrors i saw... while unloading the trailers... they were throwing(up to 2 feet depending on how heavy package is) onto a conveytor belt...... then while loading they were just throwing them into the truck...

Thankfully i didnt see any Newegg boxes but i feel sorry for those amazon boxes....

lol I had a box from my RMA replacement that looked like someone had kicked in the side. It was shipped via UPS. Thankfully no damage to the card.

Pretty sure "Do not Overclock" or "stop overclocking your card" is XFX's form "support ticket." Even when I made it *abundantly* clear from my original message to them that the card had never been overclocked, I was given a several paragraph long lecture about how I should stop because now my warranty was void.

I respond (paraphrasing) "The card has never been overclocked. Go back and read my original message. I made it clear there." What did they give me? An even longer lecture about how they couldn't help me "because I was overclocking."

Pathetic.

The main reason why I stay away from XFX is the horror stories like this and the fact XFX philosophy of non-reference cards is usually cost-saving or budget friendly stuff. I know they have there high end line of "Black Edition" or "XXX" or whatever but those are pathetic compared to the products like DirectCu, Matrix, Lightning, SoC and Classified etc, etc. It's kinda sad because I actually think XFX has the best looking GPUs or at least stickers on the market.

All of our packages here where i work get "thrown" onto a semi trailer, once the semi driver and turns its like a washing machine of boxes.

I'm fairly certain the card they sent you a picture of is not the same card you sent in. I'm 100% sure those are not the same cards.

XFX has stooped to outright fraud now. Nice.

OP could you post some FULL res pics that you took? I'd like to make a side-by-side picture showing the differences, and a higher res pic of yours would be helpful.
Will get that up in a couple hours; borrowing my friend's memory card and stuff for this... lol. AT LEAST the serial numbers match!

So $35+tax later (which I couldn't return) the same problem was still there. Low and behold a few days later the card started showing specific defect traits of dropping signal completely even on just one screen. I RMA'd it with Newegg and had a painless process there (well so far... they just got my card in today). Basically because of the time XFX took to respond + shipping time to get the advanced RMA I'm out the $30.00 rebate + $35.00+tax on the adapter. If Newegg didn't do the advance RMA (didn't want to be out a computer) I would have returned it and bought sapphire instead.

More or less my frustration with DANIEL_E was that I explained in detail the issues I was having along with how my system was setup and what monitor was using the adapter (specifically saying it was an ActiveDP adapter) etc... etc... The response I got back was a "How to use 3x screens 101". Or here... quoting their response....

Essentially I got a response that made me wait several days for no support at all to my issue. Since the card issues didn't start as feeling defective I thought it best to try and trouble shoot with XFX (since newegg doesn't do tech support) instead I had to wait for answers like that.
That was the kind of response that I got at first. Just loads of BS.
