Does faulty mean anything in regards to the actual RMA? Aside from the product being faulty as we (including XFX) all know...



The second messages "sounds" like good news actually.

They may have a set of fairly prefabricated messages for the process, and they just drop in the RMA tech's name. It could be a formality.

Either way, the OP's problem is getting attended to. Unless XFX falls down in service or timeliness at this point, I'd call those messages a good thing.

8 Ball - looks like from your response automated or not they did finally review your GPU and moved it from tech inspection to RMA process from what I read.

Glad to hear it. Also glad to hear XFX coming through, even if it is slow in it's process a warranty is priceless when it should be covered and the company stands by their word.

When you finally receive it let us know by posting back if you received new or refurbished GPU smile.gif

Wow I read this whole thread, lol! It caught my eye because I want to get an XFX 6970 when I do my rig build later this month, I love how it looks, but now I'm not sure...Parts are so expensive here I don't know if it's worth taking the chance!!

I've returned my 5870 3 times now (yes 3), and that message that you received is always followed by another message a few hours (or a day) later that a new card has been shipped to you. The fact that they sent you a message saying that the card is "faulty" is a VERY good thing. Hopefully this mess gets sorted out. XFX has been good to me so far. I really hope they take care of you in this situation.

For me, its crucial because the card would go back to the local agent. I suppose in that case XFX can't really control it because I wouldn't be dealing with them direct.

To the OP, I'd take heart that they declared it faulty, since its inside warranty, faulty things should get replaced. Let's hope that is the case!
