Why do they even include dust filters for front fans if the 200mm side intake doesn't have one?

Better than nothing, and some people might use side panel as exhaust (most of non-reference graphic cards exhaust a lot of hot air towards there) so it's not THAT big of a deal.

CorsairGeorge, I have a couple of questions regarding 500R:
1. Any specs on the included fan controller other than it having three speed levels? How many channels and how many watts per channel/in total?
2. Are there going to be dust filters at the top? A lot of people, myself included, put one intake fan at top to supply the CPU with cool air.
3. Are front 5.25" bay covers equipped with dust filter? I couldn't tell from the video. EDIT: Found another video and yes, they indeed come with filters.

It seems like you hit the jackpot with Carbide series, I was literally at the checkout for Arc Midi (sorry Fractal, love your cases but 500R looks much more stylish) when I saw 400R available in my country and decided to wait a month for the 500R instead.

I just wish your cases weren't so damn expensive, especially in Europe. First unit of 400R costs $150 + shipping here in Poland...

1. The fan controller on the 500R is designed to control the included fans only, for the most part. So it's got 4 channels and was designed to tweak the voltage from 6V - 12V on each channel when it's set.
2. Interesting question. The top panel has kind of a mesh in it that could act as a dust filter for larger particles, but it would be very easy to swap that with a finer mesh if you were more concerned about smaller particles.
3. Yes.

As for the prices in Poland, we're going to have to keep an eye on it. A lot of Europe is very interesting when it comes to pricing and availability. Which of your local resellers were you using, if you don't mind me asking?

Regarding third point, does that mean 500R has top mesh easily removable (as in no cutting tools required)? It's not a big deal either way as I'll just use a separate dust filter in front of the fan, but it'd be really nice to have it come with the case, especially if it'd be easily removable like bottom one.

When it comes to cases and cooling accessories my usual go-to shop is definitely cooling.pl, they have nearly everything I ever need and their prices are really nice.

If I'm looking for something more exotic I'll head over to yooki.pl (these guys have the first 400R in country) but they are on the other side of country and I rather pick up stuff locally as it's MUCH easier to deal with RMA as here it's usually the reseller that deals with it for the customers.

For standard hardware it's either morele.net and agito.pl as these are probably the biggest online shops in Poland.

Now, since I actually live in Bulgaria most of the time, I'll have to say that unfortunately it's extremely hard to come by Corsair products here, which is a real shame. I don't know of a single place where you can buy Corsair cooling or cases.

The best resellers (in my opinion) here are Dekada for cooling (they have no competition as far as I know) and cases and ALTech for rest of the hardware, there's a couple more but I use these two almost exclusively.

I'd really love to see your products more common in Bulgaria so I wouldn't have to buy everything in Poland and haul it across the border .

Back on Carbide series topic, I absolutely love these little details like rubber grommets, vibration-absorbing-thingies found on fan holes, side panel thumbscrews that can't be lost, black cables and so on; these things really do add up and make the case stand out. Cheap but not cheapo FTW.

Yes, it pops off easily like the 600T mesh does.

Thanks a lot. Most of us here build our own systems, and we take all the little things we dislike about the competitor's products and fix them in our own. Glad to see it works.

Also to the guy about the radiator top thickness - with the mesh in place, it's about 30mm - with the mesh removed, you could go as high as you want. I've attached a picture 500R with the top removed and two fans installed under the lip. The radiator can be installed on top of this and fans can be set up for push pull for unlimited thickness with the mesh removed. Kind of like an exposed blower on a muscle car.

The rest of these images will be uploaded to our site this week.

We're working on it now - what's your opinion?

Ideally we're going to make one single window panel that is compatible with both 400R and 500R.
It would look odd with 1 panel flat and the other panel bulged. IDK i like my symmetry in cases, but if you made a Flat window side and also another flat panel side I bet some people would go for that.
