I also went with i7, reason being is all the AMD Chipset mosfet failures really made my decision in getting Sandy Bridge alot easier, also if Bulldozer does or maybe beat SB in performance, you got the Ivy Bridge chips to look at also. AMD is always going to be a step behind since the introduction of Core 2 Duo. Go Intel. You won't regret it.

cool, i might. been contemplating for a while but, how high how a OC. you think i can get on a 2600k with a Corsair H50. thanks.

Of course you can.. But it really all depends on the chip you end up with (how it overclocks) and the motherboard of course. Sabertooth p67 is a great solid board but not really a good overclocker, and really not worth it for the price. Now the Asus P8P67 Deluxe is a great board for sandy bridge. I've seen 5ghz OC's with just 1.35-1.4vcore stable on that board, good safe temps of course. the h50 is a great cpu cooler, but i think there's better options out there as for CPU coolers. Also you got the Corsair H100 hitting stores anytime soon. I'm all over wanting one already.

I try to keep it under 75c preferably under 65c for a lot of full load stuff.
Quick bench test I have seen 72c @ 5.4Ghz.

Sounds better but you know me I'm not going to let it get that high.
