Thread Starter
i can open a command prompt and ping OCN and it gives a reply of 160Ms average but the stupid internet setup thing forces you to connect to MSN.com for verification sand it says error occured and it ends the setup. i can ping every other website on earth but MSN. is there a work around?

You need to go into the connection settings and setup a LAN. This is done from the control panel.

ignore them, use THIS: http://www.speedguide.net/files/sguide_tweak_9x.zip

or

THIS: http://www.speedguide.net/files/sgui...k_9x_pppoe.zip

atm I can't which of those I used when I had to live with that p3-450 + 256mb pc100ram + voodoo3 3000 when my 920 was in RMA LOL, my connection sky rocketed from 25,6 to 430 kb/sec downloading using that haha

just right click>install> do a reboot , if the first one doesn't work then that second one will fix your ping probs for sure
