help me with building my new pc

Thread Starter
The rig in my signtaure has finally died from a thunderstrom while its on UPS. I want to start all over again. Replacing everything including my case. I hope home insurance is going to pay for everything that died on me. I would like to prefer Intel builds but i'll give amd a try. I mainly do games, adobe master collection cs5 and programming. I have a dual screen setup. Oh i want a good soundcard as well cuz i love music. I do not know the budget yet sorry (assuming 1500 or 2k from my insurance for the pc.

Edit: i also recently upgraded to a intel ssd and wd caviar black i loved them but i'm sure they want all the parts back

Go call up the company that makes the UPS and see if they have any guarantees going for those whose systems die under their protection. Anyways I say 2500k with corsair H80, Gigabyte Z68-UD7, Corsair case (650d etc), Corsair 850w psu, 6950 crossfire, you get the idea.

Yeah but that's for warranty if the ups was faulty.

What you need to do is ask them if they have a warranty on products that fail to protect from surges as they should.

You did see that part right. Go call em up and tell em what happened, they might replace your parts or pay you for them.
