Another "Recommend me a cooler" thread - Page 2

If you can only get something from the website you listed, then the Noctua NH-D14 is probably the way to go. I didn't see other stuff, but I'm also staring off into space right now.

I do believe the SA and NH-D14 are pretty darn close. I have no idea about the H80 though. Sorry

Hope you find something good!

I second this, he knows what he's talking about.

The Silver Arrow and NH-D14 are essentially equals, just look for whatever is cheaper. I'm still waiting on more test results about the h80 before I jump to any conclusions about it. I expect if it's anything like the difference between h50 and h60 then same temps as the h70 with much quieter fans. If that is the case, I would assume better fans would result in even better cooling than h50/h70 respectively. And the CM 212+ doesn't come close to any of those coolers except in Temp/Price and that's only if you can get it for <$30.

Thanks! I learn something from this site every day.

And what Thermal Paste should I use?
Is Arctic Silver 5 still really good, or should I get something else? And shouldI just put a nice blob on the middle of the CPU and let the heatsink spread it out?

Newegg.com does you wonders if you don't live in a computer based area - BTW, I'm 14 also xD

EDIT: - Grab yourself a Corsair Hydro H50/60/70/80 and do push-pull with them. I have my H50 As Push/Pull On My NZXT Vulcan as Intake. I haven't seen temps about 40C, with an Overclock to it.

Is that website trustworthy? And how is the SIlver Arrow in relation to the H80, NH-D14 and the 212+?
Yes they are trustworthy. Many people on OCN use them and that is where I bought my Silver Arrow from.

I can tell you that on the same computer, the Silver Arrow cut almost 10c off my load temps over my old H50.

Silver Arrow will crush a CM 212+ and equal the D14. The H80, based on the reviews so far is probably about equal to D14/Silver Arrow.

Newegg doesn't ship outside the US, and it most definately doesn't ship to FInland.
And no answers to the Thermal Paste question? =/

TIM is a hot topic and everyone has a favorite that they like. Most are very close in performance but there are some you should definitly stay away from. There are many posts here about which tim to use. Try search.

I personally like and use Arctic Cooling MX-2

I have it on everything from my VGA to my Mosfet waterblock and I really like it.
