Is my CPU bad? Or is this CPU god?

I am confused as all hell..

My CPU: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1915503

As you can see... it's nearly 400mhz faster. And barely stable (if i just use a multiplier OC it's no different)

Than, there is this CPU, i just picked up fomr scrap (literally) at work

http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1915507

100% stable.

Am i just incompetent or something? Because i CAN NOT get my CPU stable above 3.8ghz

I'm not to familiar with your motherboard so I'm not to sure how well it handles this, but typically you would need to up your cpu voltage when you aren't stable. I haven't touched my 955 in a while, but I think your voltages are close to stock?

If you are talking about the bclk on the amd compared to the intel, that is completely normal. Those 775 intel chips generally used the bclk to overclock compared to multi.

Your 965 is much better then the Celeron I assure you that.

I've upped my voltage, But i was told never go above 1.5vcore.

I ALWAYS get bluescreens however, if it goes any higher. Which i am told is RAM. but even if i just use Multi overclock, it still bluescreens..

Try 1.5v at 4Ghz set NB @ 2600mhz.

What are your temps?

You can go up to 1,5v according to AMD.

Looking at your mobo it only has 4+1 power phases so be careful...

give it 1.52 vCore . ive gone through 4 various AMD chips in the last 2 years of upgrading bit by bit. AMDs need voltage and cooling.

you are not going to hurt that processor with 1.5+ vCore. i just pile the voltage on. around up to what I would bet money on that its not going to turn into a paper weight. at that point i ballpark a frequency and stability test up and down from there. i just up everything until 60 celcius is my peak, and then i come down 100 mhz or so.

Sorry on the trip post, Just wanted to update.

Pushed the board to the max voltage (1.55v with a vdroop of .05 so it was 1.5v) had the NB @ 2600mhz and @ 2800mhz with no luck, best i could do is make it boot instead of instant bluescreen at 4ghz. the second i started prime, bluescreen..

So what is it exactly? Is my chip just bad? Is it the board? RAM? number of HDD's?!?!

3.8ghz 100% stable NB @ 2600, stock voltage. Highest i can get it..

Some mobos/processors/RAM combo's just do not play well together I tried for YEARS to get my q9400 past 3.8 and there was no way...sold it to my gf's mom and built her a cheap pc to web browse, first try got it to 4.0 on a gigabyte matx mobo with gskill ripjaws, I think it was my crutial ballistix holding my overclock back
