Some chips just run hot even at low voltages. You may drop some temp if you try decreasing your VTT/QPI and CPU PLL and see if you remain stable.
Fins are warm to the touch, I use to have a second fan with 80 CFM in a push/pull config but i only noticed a drop of about 3 C avg so i took it off

im going to try and reseat this thing one final time its kinda annoying to have to do this when i browse on here and see people enjoying their temps with this cooler and have more voltage than me, I am one jealous overclocker lol

For reference I stop at 3.6 with my i7-920 D0 on a Megahalems. The temps will hit right at 68C in a 82F room.I just will not go that high (4.0) on air.

I've been through a whole bunch of 920s some 930s and some 950s and they all gave different temps at the same voltages. Each chip is unique, even within the same batch.

Besides VCore, VTT/QPI can make quite a difference in temps, lower it as far as it will go while still being able to pass Linpack and Prime blend.

took your advise i reseated and reapplyed thermal paste, im currently testing 4.2 at 1.28 vcore and 1.275 vtt first core seems getting 84, 80, 80, 80 on load. temps looking decent just hope its stable now lol

edit: got an error on linx never had that happen to me before usually just freezes... does anyone know have any ideas what ill need to increase?
