this is true. I find ssd's amazing but I can't find any practical reason to have one as an os drive since boot times is of no concern to me and web browsers open fast anyways lol. Maybe one day when i can get a 512 gb for like 200 dollars ill grab one. In the mean time i'm waiting for swtor at which point ill buy whatevers good at 32 gb or 64 gb just for that game. honestly just having the money again for something you don't really need is reason enough.

Yeah, the only reason I got an SSD is because everything else in my system satisfied me to the fullest extent.
It's a computer!

ya i'd never insult someone for having one, if i found it monetarily efficient to have one I'd be all over it. I look forward to having one as an mmo drive when swtor finally comes out.

That's what I thought when I first started looking at ssd's over a year ago. Yet the prices have stayed really similar from what I've seen.

And IMO my ssd was the best upgrade that I've done to my system. It even beats going from a 5770 to a 480.

the price is based on production atm, when production costs decreases and efficiency increases price will drop.

Great idea for OP to send SSD back and upgrade the GPU, Im thiking of selling mine to get mobo and cpu (a Phenom 555)and ram for a 2nd system im going to house in my old case which I just spent aeons on covering with black vinyl carbon, looks rather nice

To be honest bar a faster boot time once im in windows I cant see that much difference certainly warranting the cost of SSD over my Spinpoint 160gb

Not only that but NAND flash supply is limited which keeps the price up.

Did you guys know that New Egg wont refund the purchase of an SSD? They will only take it back for a replacement!
