Question about PS3 + PC Monitor - Page 2

It's the monitor.
I use my monitor with my PS3, and have had zero problems with resolution, even those stated at 720P run full screen.

my ips is 1920x1080 and when it scales down to 1280x720 the difference is easily noticed between his TV and my monitor.

A plasma should look phenomenally better then an LCD, I personally use a 42" Plasma for my PS3/360/WII and Media from my PC via HDMI 1.4 - HDMI 1.4. I've also calibrated the display for each input and it looks superb. The PS3 supports Deep/True color via HDMI 1.4, and so does my Plasma.

Though, my Plasma also costs $800 because of some features I wanted. So, it's definitely not a cheap solution. I'm sincerely not trying to brag, just stating Plasma's are not cheap.

As I said earlier, it makes sense that the dashboard is running at 1080p, and some games are only running at 720p as most PS3 games are only done in 720p, since the console shipped without 1080p support.

Also, make sure you set the output of the PS3 to 1080p, have to make sure.

True LED's that aren't LCD backlit are now replacing the obsolete LCD's and Plasmas, moreso the plasma's.

Yeah I understand. I am not worried about the money at all. Not to brag but we make alot of money so its all good If I have to return the monitor & go with something better/bigger to get better image quality.

Thanks for the tips. Im going to return the monitor and snag myself something better. Thursday

You need to go into the Video settings and 'force' everything to play in 1080p.

When setting up your video, an option will come up that asks what resolutions your screen is capable of displaying. Just deselect everything below 720p and enjoy.

It looked good on my 23" screen when I tried it. This is just with a HDMI cable from PS3 going into a HDMI>DVI adapter that came with a video card (cool that they work like that lachen.gif). My screen was 16:9 with a native res of 2048x1152.

It's possible your LG screen just does not have a very good scaler built in.

My buddy bought x4 22 inch Vizio E220VA LED Tv's for his home & ended up not needing the other 2. So I offered him 300 for both (Brand New). I know its a Vizio but one thing I do know is that my PS3 & 360 hooked up to the TV. The Picture Quality is amazing. The one thing I did notice is that it really did make that LG IPS look horrible. I tried x2 of the LG IPS monitors & I just could not get the monitors correct at all.

I know I might get some crap for buying x2 Vizio TV's but honestly watching Blyrays & even gaming for what these TV's are the colors & everything are amazing.

I thought 22 would be to small but I actually like the size. I gave one to my daughter for her room for movies & kept the other.

There arent many games that have full 1080p

My dashboard shows 1080p, but when i put in Socom or BFBC2 it always switches for 720p

This is normal smile.gif
