"As-Is" Console Luck

Thread Starter
I went on a bit of a buying spree recently and bought quite a few "as-is" or "broken" consoles on eBay (and even one here on OCN). Much to my surprise both Super Nintendos work (I paid about $20 shipped and one even came with A Link to the Past), one of the two Nintendos works (the working one cost me $15, the other was bundled with the next item - if you spotted a 3rd, I've had it for a few years and it works flawlessly), the Virtual Boy works (woot, eye-bleeding and retina-searing here I come! $35 shipped with the non-working NES), and I should find out if the N64 works tomorrow (although I have 2 more on they way that are as-is...this one came bundled with the two SNES's and the other two cost me $32 shipped with two controllers and all hook-ups).

Trying to decide what my next console/game purchase should be, I've got a few on the way for the N64 for once I get one working (noteably Goldeneye, Mario Kart, Star Fox, and Super Mario 64), but I need to slowly expand my collection for all 4 systems now. Oh yeah, I also have a Gamecube and Wii that I bought at their release. Hope you enjoy the pics, I know there are recommendation threads all over here but feel free to toss out your suggestions for my next buys I'll throw up more pics as stuff comes in if there's any interest.

Nice start to an addicting classic gaming collection. I have lots of classic stuff, let me know what you want/need and may be able to help you out.

Did you by chance get the eye-cover, or whatever they call it, for the Virtual boy? They can be hard to come by. Sorry I dont have one. Nintendoage forums may be your best bet for some of the things you are looking for.

Thanks, I appreciate the offer. Any suggestions? Just started searching for stuff, so aside from a few of the "rarer" games that I don't want to spend the money on right now and completing my Mario and Zelda collections I'm not sure where to go. I didn't get the eye-cover or the stand with it, but it did come with the AC Adapter pack for the controller instead of just the battery one I've seen a few eye-covers and stands on ebay for ~$20 each so I'll probably pick one up there or on Nintendoage. I hadn't heard of them before so thanks for that suggestion, too!

Thanks I first got into it a couple years ago when I started an NES PC project, and starting one up again recently got me right back into it lol. Goal is to have one of every console that works in the long run, but that will be a while down the road!

Once I get the two in from ebay I'll let you know if there's an extra cable. You can pick them up on Amazon for $3-4 shipped if you have Amazon prime, though (otherwise it's like $8 shipped).

64DD was Japan only.

Also go to cheapassgamer.
They have a for sale section. I know for sure you will find some stuff.

If you have a gamecube, the BEST thing to get for it, is this:

You can pick them up cheaper locally, and they play ALL gameboy games, from advance back.
