Gigabyte EP45T - Q6600(G0) Overclock

Hi
i know that every chip is different from each other but anyone here got any settings for 3.8-4ghz i think i'm hitting a wall here with 3.6ghz and any settings i tried doesn't seams to make a difference and it's keeps freezing and getting bsod in prime95

it's not the vcore i think. ive gone up to 1.65v and it's not the problem

thanks

3.8-4Ghz on a Q6600? No chance.

3.6Ghz is a very common wall with those chips.

Yeah, 3.6Ghz is usually the max for a Q6600

are you guys joking about it?
i've allready got my chip to 4ghz but i need a better cooler for it so i'm trying to get it to 3.8ghz but prime is not stable
post #5 of 33
Yeah you might get it there, but stability is the problem. The usual stable OC for Q6600 are
G0 3.4-3.6 Ghz
B3 3.2Ghz
From what I heard. You can get 4Ghz, but good luck getting it stable

Well duh, yeah you can get it there, but stability is an issue, even though youre pumping suicidal amounts of vcore through it, hence the wall of 3.6ghz.

I can get my 2500k to 5.2ghz, is it stable with anything less that stupid amounts of vcore? No.

What were your volts mate 1.8v? Don't be so silly i doubt it, seeing as ive never ever seen a Q6600 hit 4ghz. If they were capable LN2 testers would know by now.

EDIT: your going to need to need dry ice to cool 1.65v, oh and your chip probably wont last a month.

Do you think Vcore is all it takes to get stable?

No reason he can't get 3.8ish stable as long as temps are good.

1.65 is not crazy volts for a 65nm chip.

this answer...... huhh

i can get my 2600k to 5.6ghz stable with a good vcore. but that is not my question.

there are plenty of people running their q6600 @ 4ghz.

i'm just looking around for settings for my friend

you are so wrong.. and where did i say 1.8v?
if my friend had Noctua NHD-14 he would be @ 4ghz but the temps with CM n520 was just a little to high
