I miss 775 overclocking threads

A good browse on OCN nowadays' consists of constant help me overclock my i5 2500k can i get 5ghz on my i7 2600k. Its just so tiresome and boring! Bring back the 775 overclocking where fine settings/tweaks mattered, trying to get the best clock for volt ratio. I still think 775 and 1366 chips are the most fun to be overclocked. (even though ive never touched a 1366 chip in my life lol.)

Welcome to change?

I agree entirely. 4 Ghz was an achievement, nowadays a toddler with his finger up his nose can reach 4Ghz.

Its just so boring though. It might be just because i havent got one and i have a different view on things. Its just two chips though, that constantly flood the forum with can you help me overclock? yes, you push that one button there.

Although I don't have experience with newer architectures, I found working through the fine settings with my C2D to get a stable oc was a lot of fun - an H70 allowed my E5200 to hit a stable bclk of 350. Memory has always been a problem for me, though; my 1066 kit never wants to hit 1066 with the expected timings. Live and learn, right?

Damn intel and there "so easy a caveman can do it" Sandy Bridge "k" series processors

Still some fun in overclocking the 1366 line, but its pretty simple to hit 4.0 - 4.2, just a little tougher to keep them cool going any more..

their

And yea, 1366 was fun too but I didn't like the number, 4Ghz looked cooler on the 775 than on 1366.

Were still out there brother. I still put together some C2D system for family members in the last couple months and OCd them . I plan to keep my 775 rig for at least another year I would say. Will see then. I agree though, seeing all these new gen threads makes my system feel old, even though it is still kicking butt.
