Motherboard choice

hi guys, need your opinions!
backround: 8800GTX sent back to asus, geting artifacts on the screen. they sent me a gtx260. this lasted a few months (after the warrenty ran out)
my pc stoped working all together, but would boot up without the gfx, so i thought it was just taht.bought a new one(xfx 5770), it would then boot but nothing comeing though on the monitor. motherboard. so ive been looking for replacement boards, i have a AMD phenom 9500 AM2+, 8gb ddr2 ram.

ive struggled with selection but i found these 2. which would you choose?

MSI DKA790GX or ASRock ALiveXFire-eSATA2

now i know alot of you will say both MSI and ASrock are crap. but ive not much choice. most/all other boards AM2 are mATX >.< ive only ever used ASUS in the past but tbh my experiance is a bit gloomy, 6800 poped, old k8 board poped, now these cards and this board. still, i know they have good rep.

so which of the 2 crappy board's would you choose? or any alternatives ive missed?

From these two I'd pick the Asrock, in my case all MSI boards have failed sooner or later while only one Asrock failed due to poor case cooling (and undersized NB/SB heatsinks). That Asrock board has decent reviews and as long as you cool it well, it would work - note that it has pretty undersized NB/SB heatsinks and the VRM aren't likely to be able to push more than the 125W of your CPU, so if you OC do so without rising Vcore (that increases power consumption likely too far for what theboard can provide). Why not MSI? Too many 4 phase AMD boards toasted in OCN's mobo section. Other option could include second hand high quality boards that shouldn't cost much.

I'm not too sure if that particular MSI board is among the line of boards that fails (it looks to be based on the K9A2 Platinum which actually had decent INFINEON MOSFETs that didn't blow up). The ASRock VRMs might be worse, it is a 4-phase PWM with no split phase and prebuilt computer quality or so it appears. Can anyone clarify on the MSI 790GX?

If it were a choice between MSI and Asrock, I'd take MSI.

Were changing your name form xd_1771 to I KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT MOSFETS.

OP: Like he said 4 power phases are known to fail.
