I would love to run tests, but as im sitting at work, working I cannot physically do anything to my machine at home. heh

Not really sure CL3P20, I will check that out as well, when I get home.

alright, if you OC'd your processor, reset its settings to stock. Then cfx both cards again. If issue persists then its not your PSU. It can't be, the PSU only has 1 12V rail rated at 62 amps and its Gold certified.

I think its bad cards.
Not sure if this works or not but try going into the BIOS set PCIe Latency to 96 or 128.

As it stands right now thats what settings im at now, stock clocks, CFX no extra settings within CCC (+% power draw/fan speed), and I am getting these issues.

Once I get home and test the PSU, finally found a DMM (Fluke 87 True RMS Multimeter). I can then give results of tests.

Just out of curiosity where is the best place to test the PSU from? Since it is modular, end of a cable? or the jack the cable plugs into on the PSU.

As I said before, I can pretty much guarantee that the issue is with your SSD's. Vertex 3's are known for cold boot issues (the drive isnt recognized on a cold boot and it requires at least one if not more restarts to be fixed) as well as the random freezes. I experienced all of this when I had my Vertex 3 and it all vanished when I exchanged it for an Intel 510. You should go to the OCZ website and install the latest firmware for the drives (which is 2.09). If that doesn't help then try installing windows on a completely different HDD and see if that helps.

Alright,

So got home and tried each card out on the current image I had which has CCC 11.6b installed. No problems with either card, could play Metro and MoH:A for an hour without any issues on highest settings. Metro lagged a bit which fire fights but considered to be expected with something like Metro on very high.

So I tested the PSU.

Plugged each tip into their respective place. Sitting on this forum I got 12.27V.

After talking to a friend that has similar issues (cfx 5870) he said it wasn't his PSU, it wasn't the drives nor the graphics cards. But CCC. He said to go into CCC disable crossfire, go to preferences and hit restore to factory defaults, then reboot, reenabled crossfire and see what happens. So i did this. Started up Metro with CFX, never dipped before 12.20V during any firefight, groping walls etc, played for a good hour last night.

So i am stumped here. What was the root cause? How do I prevent it again? Does anyone else think it was just too easy a fix for how hard a time Ive been having with this? Anyway to test it further to make sure it isnt just glitched into working?
