I think he was referring to the normal Macbook, however I don't think they're bringing those back.

I like the design of the MBA. But I'm not made of money so I'd rather have a better price : performance ratio.
hey... we're in the same boat.. i'm a broke student... but I'm willing to pay for quality reliable stuff. Apple performance/resale is at the top of the list. I paid 1300 for my mac air last year... i could sell it for 1000 right now. try that with any other laptop on the market.

And if let someone have an apple laptop or Windows laptop for free.. 10/10 times that person will pick that apple laptop. it's a better laptop at the end of the day. People know it's expensive but ask any Mac users... it's worth every penny. If my mac air was 2 grand.. i'd still buy it.

You go dude for 2 grand I'd rather build a killer folding desktop, but to each his own I guess.

Frankly I like those MBA, but OSX is just meh IMO... Now lots of users could argue with that, but windows 7 is light years ahead of OSX. But that's just me. The only use I'd have for a MBA is to watch movies on the plane and manage my emails, in this case the price is ridiculous.

By the way, has anyone checked the new samsung's laptops out? (9 serie or something) They look really nice.

And that asus, oy, me want

When the new MBA costs as much as the base Macbook, you know they're not bring those back. Only unless the Macbook's price was lowered to like ~$800

True, but I'm a high school student(senior when school starts) without a job (I'm trying to find one, in my area it's extremely hard to find one) and my parents don't want to pay that much for a Mac when they can get a Windows PC for half of that. They don't know/care to learn about the differences between them, they just want it to work.

Plus, when I go to college, I have a feeling I'm going to need a more powerful Windows machine since I'll be taking up CompSci or Electrical Engineering.

I was in complete shock when my girlfriend bought me a Macbook Pro for my birthday. Not only that she spoiled me so but that the laptop came with the following specs in the spring of 2010.

512MB of memory (LOL)
160GB HD (MEGA LOL)
Core 2 Duo (MMMMONSTER KILL)

All for the low, low price of ~$1,199

Well funny how every macbook pro since 09 came with at least 2gb of memory.. i'm pretty sure you're a troll. Last year 2010 came with an i5 or i7.. there wasn't any C2D since 09. You know what's funny, the computer runs better then most windows Laptops out right now

Did you all see (assuming I read correctly, looking for source now) that plugging in your Macbook via Thunderbolt to one of the new displays will charge your laptop? That is pretty slick.

edit: Here You need that cable but it's a nice idea. I thought it charged directly through the Thunderbolt cable which would have been much cooler.
