[Hubble] NASA's Hubble Discovers Another Moon Around Pluto

Hubble Space Telescope's keen vision has found yet another moon orbiting the distant, icy dwarf planet Pluto. This discovery expands the size of Pluto's known satellite system to four moons. The tiny, new satellite — temporarily designated P4 — was uncovered in a Hubble survey searching for rings around the frigid dwarf planet.

The new moon is the smallest moon yet discovered around Pluto. It has an estimated diameter of 8 to 21 miles (13 to 34 km). By comparison, Charon, Pluto's largest moon, is 648 miles (1,043 km) across, and the other moons, Nix and Hydra are in the range of 20 to 70 miles in diameter (32 to 113 km).
Awesome stuff is still coming out from Hubble.

If it's 4 pixels it's 8 miles across if it's 5 it's 21 miles across. And the dithering algroythm can't be sure.

More evidence that suggests that Pluto should be considered a PLANET and not whatever the hell they've resolved to calling it.

OT.... Hubble's replacement (James Web Space Telescope) might be canned.

Discoveries and better resolution might not be possible for decades to come.

Once again...

It's terrible for me because astronomy is my field, and it's getting harder to justify going to grade school next year for astronomy or something more universal like just physics/comp sci.

Plus a few weeks ago I was in Hawaii observing Pluto and two of its moons, so now I might have more data to analyze!

You mean a dwarf planet? Still technically a planet but it gets a derogatory name in front so all the other planets can make fun of it.

...
NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit: Canning the JWST would piss me off so much because it is essentially a better version of the Hubble which has been possibly the most productive man made thing in space for two decades now.
