The only thing I don't agree with is how compact and tenkeyless are lumped together in the 80% category

Tenkeyless = a keyboard without a numpad

Compact is a board that compacts key groupings together to save space that otherwise are traditionally kept apart in their own distinct sections (such as the insert-through-page-down cluster or the arrow keys or numpad). There can be Compact Fullsize or even Compact Tenkeyless. Assuming keycaps are the same size and the tenkeyless doesn't waste any space with excessively large gaps, a non-compact Tenkeyless board will always be smaller than a Compact Fullsize.

Otherwise I think its a pretty good categorization. However we still have some major kinks to this plan with excessive bezel size. For instance my 6Gv2 and G80-3494 have the same number of keys and roughly the same layout, but the G80 has a ton of wasted space framing the keys (particularly at the top) that make the board look like a leviathan in comparison even though its really not that huge of a board at all, its rather average.

Tenkeyless should be called 85%, following the area standard.

87/103*100=84.46

While the compact like the BL82 are the proper 80% keyboards

82/103*100=79.6

A keyboard like the filco mini or the tt meka have 95/100 keys can be safely called 95%

97/103*100=94.17

Obviously is not, even considering the raw area of the keyboard.

40% is intended as 40%less than an ordinary keyboard

Full size are from 101 to 105, depending the area and the age. Japanese are even 108

I choose 103 as an average number.
