Portal 2 should work on his system.

Also starcraft II, I know you said cheap but it's a pretty amazing game and has a 2v2 ladder.

Runs fine on my laptop using Intel HD graphics (albeit on minimum settings), I play it when out and about and can't use my PC.

Also the old Command & conquers. Tiberian Sun/Red alert 2/3. They will work without problems on a low spec PC.

Maple Story is quite far from terraria, lol. It's essentially just a side-scrolling RPG, without the building and collecting aspects of terraria.

It might not run on an intel intergrated GPU.
For some reason, he doesn't seem to have any interest in TF2 or this .

I honestly don't HATE RS, I actually have an account and periodically become a member, usually once a year and play around a bit for some fun. Might be about that time to check it out this year

I beat the co-op with another friend within 5 hours of Portal 2's downloadable release on steam . This friend has also shown me a website with numerous additional, user-made co-op maps which the two of us should probably begin playing sooner or later.

Hm, we have been looking into some free MMO's. I'll have to wait and run this one by him.

While Portal 2 should run on his laptop, at best, he'd hold ~30fps, plus, the game is far from cheap, or currently worth the $49.99 for <10 hours of gameplay. IMO, I was somewhat disappointed by how quickly I completed both the single player and co-op campaigns. They were, however, quite fun. Similarly, Starcraft 2 falls under an undesirable price range, albeit, I do currently own the game and honestly haven't played it nearly as much as I figured I would have.

Currently, I'm trying to convince him to get into RoM (Runes of Magic), which is essentially a WoW clone, except it's free. We're definitely looking into a few of these, though.

I looked at a short video on youtube and I'm not entirely sure it's enough like terraria to justify buying 2 copies of Minecraft, as neither of us actually own it, but have played it previously.

Are there any co-op puzzle solvers? Anything similar to Portal?
Terraria is like Minecraft. Not the other way around.

I'd say Minecraft is like Terraria. It's trying to catch up to Terraria as far as actual gameplay goes.
