Unless the next gen consoles come out in like 5 years then no they wont. Maybe bigger Hdd's, like 500gb, but not SSD's

All they need to do is put support in for them and I'd be happy. It would make alot of sense for them to do this, giving support to them would allow the user to go out and just upgrade to SSD if they wanted. Also 3 years after it's initial release if SSD prices are low enough they can offer "turbo" models or somethIng that come with a SSD.

Why would companies want users to have the ability to upgrade their consoles with market-cost components?

No, they want to charge you more for the newest revision!

Of course with the PS3 you can just go out and upgrade it to SSD if you want. I've seen the odd poster do it on other forums.
