Am I bottlenecking?

If you read my specs you can see I have a Phenom II 810 at 2.6ghz running an Asus GTX 460. I was told by a friend I might be bottlenecking. Do you guys think I am?

It might bottleneck it in some games. but as long as you get 60+ fps it doesn't really matter.
If the CPU is overclocked there will be hardly a bottleneck.

Depends on the resolution,

But, It's likely you have a big bottleneck in demanding dual core games.

I have the same issue.

I typically play STALKER CoP maxed out at 1600x900 with 40~ fps average

I only have a stock cooler and I've tried to overclock with AMD Overdrive but I can't tell if it worked or now.

Stalker's a dual core game, regardless of that, you might be maxing out the GPU already, I'd check.

It's not ideal but it's your system so short of buying a new one just forget about it and play some games.

Might be some bottlenecks here, but not by that much.

Regardless, I recommend you buy an aftermarket cpu cooler and get your cpu up to 3.0-3.2Ghz which should be easy to do with that cpu.

just check your GPU usage, if it hits 99%~ then you are good.

if you hit like 80% you have a small bottleneck but it isn't an issue if you are still getting a smooth game experience.

MSI Afterburner & Furmark said it was running at 99%

Oh and @ Ascii Aficionado it's a quad core

also any tips with overclocking it? AMD Overdrive is confusing.

If you are hitting 99% then you are not bottlenecking. The way you tell if you are bottlenecking is if your CPU is maxing out and your gpu is not.

Like in grid my CPU is at 100% load, and my GPU sits at like 85% load. So I bottleneck with my setup when I play grid. But in metro 2033 I don't bottleneck. So it all depends on the game.
