Actually, I'm considering upgrading to 8GB of RAM instead. Is the RAM in my basket good enough or should I be getting a different brand?

That's pretty good, although I'd change the ram to 1.5v sets since they run cooler, and would be better for SB. For around the same price, look at the Vengeance LP or the taller heatsink Vengeance, the colour choice is your choice since your MB is blue, I'd go for the blue ones

Sorry, I don't know how to find this out. As the computer was prebuilt I don't really know anything about the power supply.

I imagine it's the power supply that came built in with the Raidmax Aztec Silver case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811156092

Then it's probably junk and you are lucky it didn't come DOA w/ that case

I linked you to 4 good ones last page, I strongly recommend it.

So just going to ditch your 2x2gb ram sticks? or what

Well I'd imagine so as they are DDR2, so won't be compatible with the motherboard I'm getting. Anyway, I would have no idea what to do with the sticks or the rest of the stuff i'll have left over anyway

What else could I do with it anyway?

I did check out your PSU list as well and I'm buying the 600W Corsair one you recommended

Awesome, It will run cooler and more efficient than your Raidmax by a long shot. You probably got the same 500w Raidmax I got with my Raidmax Smilodon case (use it for #3 PC). It worked.. but it ran hot and surely wasted lots of power.

Ah yea kind of missed that, DDR2 ram is expensive, you can figure a way to sell it or use your old board and stuff for something like a HTPC.
