hd 5770 crossfirex

Thread Starter
hi guys need your opinion on whether to keep my 5770's in crossfire or upgrade to a hd 6870? Does the 5770's in CFX beat 1 6870 and 2 6870's in CFX? And if i was to sell my 5770 with 2 ek fullcover waterblock how much can i get?
thanks.

I'd be interested to hear some opinions about this as well. I'm thinking about putting together a dedicated folding rig with a set up similar to yours.

I think it does outperform a single 6870, I'm not sure though.
And it's quite obvious it gets beaten badly by crossfire 6870's

Upgrade. 6870's OC like beasts.

If you consider 100Mhz at best with air cooling beastly..

Unless you are having multi GPU issues, then there really is no reason to upgrade to the 6870. If you plan on getting 2 at some point though, then that would be much faster.

From when I had crossfire 5770s they performed close to a single 5870 or better depending if you take overclocking in mind. But if you compare the price/performance it's not a big upgrade. If you get a second 6870 then it'll be a huge upgrade.

I would just go on Amazon and buy one. Sure, it is $20-30 more, but you can return it with no hassles if it is DOA or if something goes wrong in the first 30 days.

Also, you could probably sell your 5770 for $100-110 since it has a water block.
