Which 570/580 GTX

Thread Starter
Which 570/580 GTX should i take,

External exhaust
Reference EVGA 580
Reference EVGA 570 SC

Internal exhaust
Non Reference MSI N580 twin frozr II/oc
Non Reference MSI N570 twin frozr III power edition

Asus is no go for me

Case; HAF X

It's a bit of struggle for me if i can save some money to go for lower card.
Read some articals of 570 overclocked to match 580's.

Mayby SLI in the future. And will be running with i5 2500k not my old e6750

Please help

570s will overclock to match a stock 580, or even a small overclock on the 580. But remember the 580 can overclock too, so it can still go faster. I would so go for the 570 if you can't find a good deal on the 580, but if you get a good deal on the 580 go for it.
Just remember your CPU will have a hard time running a 570 or 580, so you might want to look into upgrading that.

Overclocked 570 should be a match to stock 580 afaik. Some 570's oc like a beast.
Supercharged versions are pretty much the same as normal versions, but only factory overclocked.. so why pay more if you can oc it yourself.

Future SLI? Multi-monitor setup maybe? In that case 580 for more Vram.

Twin Frozr models should be pretty good and with Haf X you should be fine with airflow even that it's internal exhaust.

Are you using that E6750 with that new gpu?

GTX 570 is the better bang for the buck. 580 is only 15% faster. but you pay 45% more money for it. If you want power get the 580 but if you want the better price/performancer ratio get the 570.

570 is only marginally less card than the 580. As other have said, when you OC the 570, performance differences become marginal, as the 570 overclocks better.

If you pair two 570s in SLI, your performance is almost equivalent to two 580s in SLI as well.

Unless you just have money to burn, go with the 570.

which is the reason I said if you can find one on sale or one used for a good deal they are worth it, but if you pay full price they are horrible.

No i will not run this with a e6750, that would be insane XD. I would run it with my upcoming system with i5 2500K.

So overall what i can understand 570 still better bang for your buck. If you have money to burn go 580.

How are the temps of the refernce coolers are they a problem, here lots of isseu with heat on the refernce coolers, that would make me go for msi. A cooler gpu better life spawn

well if your goign to go sli get 570. the 570 to meet 580 clocks stock 772 the 570 needs to be 825-955core. depends on what u want. BUT 570 seems to die after 1.1 volts. so if you get evga and burn it out your under warranty. Now my 580 @ 950 core. hardfor u to match that, cpu overclock 4.2 ghz 90-120 fps. with gpu overclocks. 105-120.

So, 580 wins but u got cash to burn, evga ha a 90day trade up. if keeplar comes out u can make the up BUt i think 2012 till keeplar , anyway i would pass on 570 or 590 bad phase power.

guess i'll have to mount it myself, in which some cases the warranty falls.

So my choice would be msi 580 gtx or regular evga 580,

MSI 570 dont have the bad phase power right?
