So I am going for a high end pc can't decide amd or intel

The rig in my signtaure has finally died from a thunderstrom while its on UPS. I want to start all over again. Replacing everything including my case. I hope home insurance is going to pay for everything that died on me. I would like to prefer Intel builds but i'll give amd a try. I mainly do games, adobe master collection cs5 and programming. I have a dual screen setup. Oh i want a good soundcard as well cuz i love music. I do not know the budget yet sorry (assuming 1500 or 2k from my insurance for the pc.

You might want to consider a larger SSD if you use Windows 7 (it's full install is on the order of 30Gb!)

For CPU/mobo, maybe a weaker CPU but a nicer AM3+ motherboard with intention to upgrade the CPU when Bulldozer comes out? Like others have stated, Intel's sandy bridge is a better deal currently for both games and CS5.

If you are going to get a Phenom x6 please get a better mother board, this is my biggest regret and the first thing on my list of things to get. I am strongly biased towards the new asus series so I won't suggest. But look into power phases on mobos so you understand. You don't want to fry your chip later on.
Get a full atx am3+ mobo; 1100t not worth it over 1090t; x6 may not be a worthwhile placeholder at all actually depending on your needs.

Motherboard - Upgrade
CPU - Small downgrade/good
Memory - Decent/Get a dual channel kit
Power Supply - Seems solid, don't know about Corsair PSUs
GPU - Change to AMD, something like 6950/6870
CASE - No comment, to each his own
DATA DRIVE - Good
OS DRIVE - Upgrade to 64GB

I don't see a soundcard. Depending on your needs I'd say Asus Xonar DX or XFi Titanium.

That's helpful.

This. You wont regret a better motherboard for a quality system. And a 64GB SSD would better suit your needs.

Given the choice, I've always bought Asus motherboards and never had a major problem. You don't seem to be blindly pushing, so I doubt there's bias, just good experience.

I second this. Get an AM3+ so you can upgrade to bulldozer when it is released. An X4 works great for gaming and would be a good temporary processor waiting for bulldozer.

You could get extreme and go ASUS Crosshair V AM3+http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131735
Or maybe a solid ASUS with USB 3.0 but a little easier on the wallet
