So?
He still looses what 64bit programs are available. There may not be a huge number of them right now but I dont see a reason to restrict yourself to something outdated(or at least heading that way) on brand new hardware.

Would you recommend an Athlon T-Bird to someone who wants to run BF3 just because its probably not made for Bulldozer?

I've heard that 64bit vista manages threads more efficiently. If you just bought a Windows package you'll be fine because it comes with a 32bit CD and a 64bit CD, in which I strongly recommend to install the 64bit version of the OS.

As for the RAM usage, you don't necessarily need to have 4GB or more to have an excuse for using a 64bit OS. You can use Win7 64 with 2GB or so.

The Intel i5-2500k can run both 32 and 64 bit OS's. So if you still want to install a 32bit OS, you can go ahead and do it.

I have an i5 2500 and a GTX 960, unfortunately I only have a windows 7 Pro 32bit cd and i was wondering a couple things if you could please give me your insight..
1) can my system run the 32 bit, only to install and then immediately upgrade to windows 10 64 bit?
2) can you describe to me what a 32 bit version would look and respond like?
3) will I be able to do an upgrade from 32bit win8 to 64bit win10 either with media creation tool or the free upgrade?
4. if anyone has done it before and could give me a basic idea how it would go?

thanks for taking the time.

I think you can only upgrade to Win 10 32bit from 7/8/8.1 32 bit but let someone else chime in or post in Win 10 club

but once i have windows 7 installed i can ust use the media creation tool to make a 64bit installer right? and that same windows 7 code would activate it ?
You can download the Win 10 installer from Microsoft and use it to do a fresh install, then use your Win 7 key to activate it. Should work with out a problem.

Tool is available here. You can choose either 32 or 64 bit.

yea i already tried that, code's not working because i just installed it from the media creation tool in the first place. When i try to use the code it doesn't work. I'm thinking i just have to re install the windows 7 disk and then re upgrade, but unfortunately my disk is a windows 7 pro 32bit, and i have an I5 2500 cpu. could i install it in 32bit, activate it, then use the tool to create a 64bit usb drive. is that possible?
What the previous poster wrote is supposed to work. Please try again. Download the latest version of Windows 10 via the Media Creation Tool (the first version doesn't support Windows 7/8/8.1 keys). Tell it to create media for another computer, and then burn yourself a DVD or make USB installation media. Boot the installation media, give it your Windows 7 key when prompted, and you should be good to install. Just be sure to do a clean (custom) install because you're changing bit-depth.
