At 1.25 it boots but 4th core fails. Im going to try again, it would be easier to set the bios settings if the bloody UEFI bios would work with my wireless keyboard, mouse keeps jumping on its own =/.

tried 1.27 and still fails, the thing is that when it resets the settings it goes into auto OC and when i check in windows the volts are at 1.289 so idk whats going on.

Then plug in an old wired keyboard if you have any laying around

Also if you are at 4.5Ghz try putting the Vcore to 1.35V stress test it and then try lowering it.

Strange, maybe it's the power supply... I don't know how demanding your computer is with those specs, maybe 550W PSU can't take the clocks :/
But it works fine on 4Ghz right?

Well it works fine at 4.3 with auto OC with voltage at 1.272-1.280 so i have no idea whats going on. Running P95 right now and all cores are fine with auto OC.

Maybe its the bios, let me try AI suite ii. ( Although i didnt use the program to OC, i used the bios but let me see)

I don't really know how auto OC works, but I guess it caps out at that, since it didn't OC it more? Weird :/

Well no, auto OC on asus boards will max it at 4.3 for 2500k and 4.5 for 2600k i think no matter what. The board can do higher its just auto is hard capped at those settings.

1.32v and 4.5ghz is the sweet spot for most owners. I currently have mine on that and I'm getting 30-32C idle and 60-62C on load.
