Low score Heaven benchmark 2.5

Thread Starter
Hello fellow overclockers

I recently bought myself a nice rig so games run fluently once more. After working out the kinks it's now running stable @ 4.2 GHz for now, and running 3DMark2006 yields the score of 25546 points. My older rig gets a score of 18000 while overclocked so it's an improvement to say the least

However! When running Heaven benchmark seems to spit out quite low scores; 471 when I just run it as-is. (1920x1080 resolution) I could also swear I've seen Heaven run more smoothly on a core 2 duo system some time ago, with tessellation on.

Any idea what could cause this, or is this a normal score for a core i5 2500K with an Ati Radeon 5850 Toxic edition?

Did you compare your scores to other 5850 cards?
Tesselation isn't all that great on HD5000 series.
CPU doesn't really do a lot in this benchmark btw.

Well according to this list, 5770 and 5830 cards are outdoing my standard overclocked 5850 with 490 and 697 points respectively
I wonder if this has something to do with speedstep not kicking in or something of that sort?

You can cheat in that benchmark, both while in it and through the CCC for AMD users.

Take scores that seem out of context with a grain of salt.

As an example look at the ATI leader board:

rickss69 (5970+5870 Trifire) - 3413
trigger-happy (6950 Trifire) - 3398
Racheluk (6990 QuadfireX) - 3325

No point in attempting to compare with scores so far out of wack.

Hi guys I'm new.

Same problem here, I run Heaven Benchmark v2.5 Basic on i7 2600k @4.8Ghz with my new EVGA GTX580.

Should I be fine with these results or I they are too low for my hardware configuration?

Thank you

I would like to understand if my result is fine like that or I may have something damaged

Thank you.

Well, better oc on the cpu, a little oc on the vga so here we are:

@4,5 Ghz
vCore 1,375v
QPI 1,12v
Multi-Step Load Line Level 6
DDR @1600 1,5v XMP 8-8-8-25

Stable after 1h test with: LinX, Intel Burn Test, Prime 95.

Bench:
ungine heaven dx11 2.5 basic @ max settings 1920x1080
