Fry's Electronics has an i3 2120 3.3ghz for $119.00 why not look into that.
I do lots of gaming and multiplayer action on my PC and the CPU really holds up. If you get a P67 board you can squeeze out an extra 150 mhz pushing it to 3.4ghz. Not much but it helps getting the most out of it.

Yes the Pentiums are cheaper & built for HTPC & office systems & it will help you save some money.

Yes. a value series RAM from Corsair or any other brand would be good enough.

The built in Graphics HD2000 should be more than sufficient for HTPC purposes, In case If you do need one then go for GT 430 from Zotac as you have an option of Passive/Active cooling.

Plus Zotac offers 5 yrs warranty on registration(if registered within 15 days of purchase)
