ive used ati cards in the past (4870 4890's and crossfire) and all thier new drivers kill the performance of older cards.
its great when you get a new card from ati released in the market but once you wait 3-7 months down the road and ati releases new drivers, you'll be rolling back those drivers and wasting a ton of time trying to figure out which one gave you the best performance without CTD issues.
don't get me wrong, their hardware is awesome and we need ati to survive as competition to drop prices, but thier drivers give me a headache for 2 years, i've had smoother operation on my rig with nvidia cards.Edited by subliminally incorrect - 7/21/11 at 7:42am
