The main concern in this discussion I think comes down to noise to performance ratio.
If you do the math with the right set up, you can have a thin SR-1 cool as much as an RX however, again comes down to the right set up.
I've conteplated this same question "should I get a thicker radiator or what ever, and I opted to just use higher speed fans in push pull.. it's much cheaper as I have the radiator already. These thicker radiators aren't cheap, but if you are just starting out..
There is a saying in the water cooling world.. something along the lines of buying right the first time, or be prepared to buy double later.. *or something.. haha..
What I am getting at here is.. with cooling.. it's like a psu purchase.. you'll be using it in later builds. so you get something that is "overkill" so you'll have "enough" later.
I hope I am making sense....
I have a Swiftech MCR and as stated above if set up correctly it can surpass an RX and maybe even a BIX, in certain circumstances of course..

Again, it all comes down to noise to performance and vice versa *reason I keep my MCR's and they are quite good for the money.
Good luck and happy modding..

Yes the RX360 has good cooling performance, better than the GTX at low fan speeds. However at high fan speeds the GTX is the best performer.

Yes, it's a very popular Radiator for set ups that the user would like quiet vs. noise. After you've reached the threshold of the RPMs it won't be any better than others.. But since it's a thicker and more fpi radiator you can use lower rpm fans*quieter to reach the same results if you used a thinner/higher speed*noisier fans.

also, get the biggest radiator that will fit where you are putting it. if you are putting it on the top of your case and you can fit a 360, do it. you dont want to decide to add a NB SB block or a graphics card to your loop and have replace it in order to take advantage of the rest of the space, ya know?

and if the other rad is thicker than the GTX from hardware labs, that is impressive. the 280 is already like two inches thick.

i personally vote for the hardware labs because i own two and they are amazing radiators (in build quality and the fact that i have no trouble with them at all.)

and get scythe SFF21G fans or the scythe gentle typhoons if you care about noise. i havent heard the typhoons but everyone raves about them. i personally own the SFF21G fans and the sound they make is really pleasant and i dont really notice. i hate the sound of a motor, but i dont hear the motor in these fans. just the sound of whooshing air when i turn them all the way up.

(prpotip: they work very well when toggled between 60% and 100% either using a switch or a program from your motherboard manufacturer- like asus ai suite. at 60% they are SILENT)

also fan shrouds make a huge difference in noise. if you can, get the thickest radiator you can while still fitting push-pull fans + shrouds on both sides. that is the best setup. for noise and performance, actually.

You tell me... is it ok?

The RX is a good rad for a quiet set up. The Gentle Typhoons are good rad fans at any speed.

Best... at what? It's like asking, "what's the best car?" Depends on your goal.

The HWlabs are well-regarded, solid choices. They have one of the most comprehensive selection of any manufacturer. They have good build quality and a nice finish. Some other rads might perform better than a comparable HWlabs rad under certain conditions, it just depends. The Thermochill rads are highly regarded as well. It's safe to say that HWlabs are generally considered to be among the best.

With any rad, if you don't know what you're doing you'll end up with results that won't be as good as they could be.

This...
AP-15's are the sweet spot for fans.. I personally use high speed yate loons.. they perform great.. and cost half the price..
Anyways.. The variables in set-ups is immense and no one can "just" say what is best or what isn't..
It's a debatable situation.. but the data collected doesn't lie.. could be variations in results but for the most part it doesn't lie.. Go with what works most of all.. and what works for you..
Every set up is different, You made a good choice.. however.. are you willing to accept the results.. remember with any cooling.. espesh water.. your temps won't be below ambient due to the laws of physics...Unless of course you have the means.. and money to go below zero/ambient!!
Anyways..
yeah that's it..
