custom liquid cooling loop

Thread Starter
Hello all,
I read about bong coolers and decided to start gathering materials for one, i have the big pipes, the smaller pipes are on their way but what stopped me is the water block, they are ranged at around 70 dollars and a DIY one is kind of risky so i thought long and hard and found a solution, to weld or sodder copper pipes to my exiting cooler to cool the cooler and the air entering it. so would this be practical or no???

Funny yes, practical no

The res would have to be massive, and the shower spray be like mist.. more and experimental thing then a proper 24/7 cooling solution, the fans will also pull crap in to the water.

I threw out the old design and made up a different one, this still involves using my cooler master hyper 212+ and a bong tower but this time the cooler master 212+ is going to be the water block, something similar has been done one or 2 years ago here (http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/26...ooling-project) i have attached pics with some more ideas

A Radiators job is to cool down the liquid =\\.

Having some sort of Spray/Gravity drop with a heat escape may do something but wouldn't work very well compared to an conventional rad.

Get an XSPC rasa block, they're cheap as hell and very effective:

http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/...pid-11981.html

Also, bong coolers work very well, BUT...

You will need a pump with a lot of head pressure. Think like 5m of head IMO and of course you have to refill them because of the evaporation.

Edit:

If you want a cheap effective solution, my tip to you would be look at aquarium pumps, car radiators and anti corrosion coolants. The CPU block wont be easy to produce however, cheaper and easier to use an existing one.
