I went from a 17" to a 21.5", so about the same, and it was a HUGE difference to me.

Of course, my 17" was 4:3 and the 21.5" was 16:9 so that had a lot to do with it. It seemed a mile wide.

I guess it really depends on the aspect and quality of what you were used to. As far as whether you made a good purchase or not, I couldn't find a price, but while I've never owned an ASUS monitor, there seem to be quite a few folks around here that like them. Assuming you didn't pay an arm and a leg, I'd say you did all right.

Just my 2c worth,

Rich

with 1920/1080 you should see it. Gone from 21 to 28 inch was massive. Input delay killed it. BUt ya. nice jump. 260 will do lower fps in all games tho.
Btw 21 inch was crt 2048/1536, to 1920/1080 lcd.

In my experience, the biggest advantage in getting a new monitor is getting to have two monitors, and have a movie on one while I surf on the other, or tweak my OC on one and have monitoring stuff on the other, or help my mom out by remote desktopping in to her machine on one and reading support notes on the other, or.....

But I see you mention you paid a recycle fee, which might mean you only have one monitor. Personally, if I only had one monitor, I'd go to the second hand store and buy a 15" CRT until I had the cash for another decent one.

Also, resolution is more important than size for some people.

The Fee was Electronic Waste Disposal, i believe it is meaning you're paying for it (if you're a bad boy) to have it dumped anywhere lol

Also thanks for your responses !!!!! 1080p!!
