We knew Apple was introducing something today, but what we didn’t know was that it was going to be saying goodbye as well.
...
The Air, once a novelty, is now the standard Apple laptop.

I wonder how the SSD in the air will work out with the new lion features, seems like they could use up a decent amount of space.

They named the 13" a Pro model last year. They done away with the standalone Macbook then.
I like this, the Air was more expensive than a 15" Pro when it was first introduced, now it's the cheapest in their lineup.

The $249 for Apple Care is ridiculous though. 25% of the Air's value for a warranty that probably won't be used.

I hear their customer service is god-tier, though. I'd pony up for their warranty if it's as great as they say.

When my battery died in my MBP, Apple overnight air mailed a replacement battery...I had it sitting on my doorstep the next morning.

It's little things like that which make me willing to pony up for top notch tech support.

What year MBP was it? I'm kind of surprised Apple trusted you to install the battery yourself.
