So... in other words, Mozilla finally realized that Chrome's success was NOT due to it's constant revisions but rather on being a superior platform.

So now instead of releasing Firefox 12 by the end of the year, their new strategy is to copy all the key marketing points that were originally used for chrome? *shrug* well whatever floats their boat. FF had a good run, glad I've moved on.

Fire Fox is an awesome Browser no doubt ,but it haven't reach it's full potential...

i would like to see when firefox support 64bit + multipros + 3D card render...
that would realy punch IE real hard.

anyway we'll see

Chrome already did that. Just need native 64bit support and its good to go.

I'm curious why multiple processes helps performance for Chrome? Multiple processes mean that the browser will now run in non-contiguous parts of memory that the OS assigns as the process is created, whereas multi-threading (allowing each tab its own thread) means that each tab is contiguous in memory next to each other , which is generally more efficient, or at least I would've assumed it would be.

The main advantage is stability/security. One tab can't bring the whole browser down (or affect other tabs).

isolation of different tabs helps improve stability.

Would be nice if they didn't have to do it though.

Please make these bastardised version numbers stop. Everything else, I could care less, but I can't stand for the "higher is better" approach. It just doesn't make sense.
Mozilla talks about garbage collection. Separating it into separate components allows the browser to feel more responsive while the garbage collection is occurring. Instead of one big collection, there are a bunch of smaller ones.

Also releasing memory when closing tabs will be more predictable. Less chance of memory leaks due to fragmentation.
