The Witcher 2 GTX 460 1Gb SLI versus...

I looked all over the 'net to see how two gtx460s would handle the Witcher 2 but I couldn't find much of anything concrete mostly a lot bragging and speculation. So I went and got a second one. If you want to see how your current setup would compare to gtx460s you can use the numbers below.

I have an i5-2500K OC to 4.4Ghz for 1 core and 3.9Ghz for 4 cores. Memory is 16GB DDR3 at 1600Mhz.

These are the ASUS directcu II 1GB cards. The over clocked stats are for 825Mhz/1650Mhz and 2000Mhz on the memory. Drivers are 275.33 on Win7 x64.

FPS measured on "High Spec" with no settings changed at 1920x1080 during the rose of remembrance cut scene using Fraps. I chose this cut scene because it's repeatable and uses most of the game's effects.

Sweet I was thinking of getting another 460 and this game and your setup is almost identical except more RAM.

Good first post, Thanks, and Welcome to OCN

Please fill in your system specs in the UserCP (Add System) so that your rig components appear w/every post.

Also, the FPS in the Cutscenes probably represent about the lowest FPS you'll get in the game ... I'd imagine most of the time your FPS are considerably higher than those, yes?

Also, you forgot to mention what clocks your OC run's were done at ... be cool if you edited your post to include that info

Thanks for the feedback mad0314. I almost didn't bother posting but then I remembered how annoyed I was that this info wasn't on the 'net and got over my laziness.

The RAM was a shell shocker sale and that's the only reason I have so much. I've never seen more then 5.5GB in use yet. Maybe I should pull the extra 8GB and save some electricity.

Will do.

I think the cutscenes are pretty hard on the graphics card but there are some beautiful vistas that drop the FPS lower. And the kayran fight but thats a bad benchmark since it changes every time.

I mentioned: "These are the ASUS directcu II 1GB cards. The over clocked stats are for 825Mhz/1650Mhz and 2000Mhz on the memory. Drivers are 275.33 on Win7 x64." Are there other clocks I should be aware of? This is my first time overclocking.

Very nice thread. Good job. A lot of people choose to get GTX 460's and it does well.
I have the dumbed down version of it and it still performs great for what I bought it for.

I sold off my GTX460s and got a single GTX570. I ran the same scene again with factory clocks. The driver and the version of the Witcher 2 are different but this is still probably of interest to some folk on the net. I started in the same spot but stopped FRAPS 9 seconds early.
