1. I like dealing heavy damage to my targets from a distance. I don't really care how much HP I have, I just like dealing lots of damage from far away. Which class and race would you guys recommend?

2. How much does the monthly payment cost (in USD) if I pay via credit card?

3. Which version should I buy? As a beginner, should I buy the battlechest which comes with TBC? Do I need any other expansions as well?

4. Which server should I start out in? Should I start in one of those new-player servers or go straight to a regular server?

5. Got any suggestions or anything else you need to tell me before I start?
1-Arcane mage
2-$15, you can pay several months at a time and its a bit cheaper iirc
3-Go ahead and buy Vanilla through Cata.
4-Go straight for a high pop PvP server, its the best way to learn.
5-For the horde, ignore trolls (The d-bags, not the race).

Just so you know, the Burning Crusade is now included with the original WoW game, not too long ago. So avoid buying bundle packs with TBC, you're paying an extra $10 for nothing.

See if you have any friends that are willing to level with you. Recruit-A-Friend is a pretty big boost in experience gained and both you and the friend benefit from it. (You get triple experience from enemies killed and quests turned in.). The friend who recruited you also get a free mount and free month of game time.

You should also find a higher level guild to join as the bonuses the guild perks give stack with RAF (or if you're not doing RAF, the guild perks are pretty good in general). Hell, if you start a character on Arthas Horde, I can give you an invite to our guild so you can have perks. Just shoot me a PM here.

PS: Also, my suggestion is mage. Glass cannons ftw. At max level they essentially press three buttons and do probably the most single target DPS of any class, so it's really easy, as well.

Based off what you told me, I would start off a Mage. Spec Frost @ lvl 10 for greater survivability and an overall better PvP experience.

For The Horde.

This. I'm an 85 gobby frost mage, and while I don't do PvP, I do get some massive crits. Plus, Frost is well suited to both DPS AND control.

Shaman, priest, and druid also have some high-damage spec's as well as specs for other roles if you ever decide you want to do something else. If you just want to DPS full-time, def mage or hunter.

dps from range.. you can pick any class but warrior, paladin, rogue and death knight..

any other class has a viable ranged spec. Ofcourse you have to read up about which gear to go for and which talents to pick.

but anything goes.
