[SWTOR] The Old Republic Pre-Order Available - Page 5

I have no doubt that there will be a substantial amount of players at launch, but as far as how many will stick around after their 30 day trial ends... it may be disappointing.

I have heard from other beta testers that it isn't the most amazing, revolutionary mmo that Bioware wants you to believe it to be, but still top-notch. I know I'm uber excited for it.

I've ordered 2 copies, one additional for my brother.

The expectation is of course monstrous for this game. However, all things said , 10 million people will not be showing up at launch, totally unrealistic.

Wow's numbers are made up of a global total, much of which is in the Orient, and accounts for Farmer Bots as well as actual players. Doesn't matter but needed to be said. the vistors write the history. Years later people will still say, "Wow had 12 million (people) playing". No they had a cash cow machine mmo with 12 million subs at one time. People actually playing is a different truth. All things equal anyone would love to have the same truth going for them = wildly successful.

I do believe the game will grow like all MMO's, and we have to keep that in mind and not only wade around in the kiddie pool /read shallow end... One must remember No MMO in memory had all the endgame content, zones, and features on Day one, or even year one.

I ask, are some expecting month one SWTor to compare to endgame multiyear WoW polish? Apples and Oranges in expectations despite the hype.

I don't see how they could fail. Everything is UP from here. Especially from the Intellectual Property that had the worst Nerf in MMO history.

/soapbox Yes SWG wiped Creature Handler from the game. Man I was pissed /endrant

See you all in game! We'll have to declare a OCN server or Guild muhahaha, that would be awesome!

Need to pre-order this ASAP.

Hate that I'll have to go through Origin to get my EA games now, not a fan of not having all my games in one place (Steam), but I guess I can just add them manually.

Alrighty... I caved and pre-ordered the CE from Amazon.

I sure hope that this game is worth it... as my spirit got broke by the travesty that happened with SWG.

Now the waiting begins.

I don't mind if the community is smaller. Smaller MMO communities tend to be closer. I dislike the current WOW community. I know chat(Barrens) was always terrible. I just mean how people treat one another in general.

all the people I know in beta won't leave it when they get access to play other stuff with us. They are addicted before its even out. But the special edition options are a huge dissapointment. EA is the worst publisher on the planet hands down.

Why does everyone have this mentality? Bioware never said they wanted to revolutionize MMOs. They just wanted to add story. I've been in Testing quite a few times. The game plays very much like Everquest/WoW but it gives you meaning to what you do in game.

The game is pretty great but it has flaws that can't be fixed. Not every system is perfect but even a few months ago, it was well polished. I read enough books so not having to read every quest to give context to your actions is a welcomed change. But you should be happy either way. The game is rather fun.
