Fan Speed - Auto or Manual?

Thread Starter
Hey there.
I'm currently overclocking my Asus GTX 580 DirectCU II,

Currently I'm on:
Voltage - 1138
Core - 860 (In the middle of it)
Memory - 2004 (Stock)

I was wondering, should I leave the fan speed at auto as it was on default or should I make it manual? Is there any adventages and what does the common overclocker usually select for a stable 24/7?

Fan profile and set it to the highest tolerable. Only ramping when it gets really hot. My fans never reach 100% unless I'm benching.
